The Patek Philippe World Time Date 5330G-001 is the first Patek Philippe world timer with a date that is synchronised to local time. First shown as a limited edition at the Patek Philippe Watch Art Grand Exhibition in Tokyo in June 2023, it joined the regular collection at Watches & Wonders 2024. Patek Philippe World Time Heritage
The World Time is one of Patek Philippe's most celebrated travel complications, and the modern Calibre 240 HU has powered Patek's world timers since 2000. With the 5330G-001, Patek solved a problem no world timer had addressed: the date. A patented differential mechanism links the date to the local time zone shown at 12 o'clock, so the date changes correctly at midnight and when you cross the International Date Line, in either direction.
Design: Blue-Gray Dial and Denim-Pattern Strap
The centre of the dial is blue-gray opaline with a fine carbon motif, surrounded by a city disk with 24 place names and a 24-hour ring split into day and night (a gilt sun and a gilt moon). A red dot between Auckland and Midway marks the International Date Line. The date is read on the outer flange by a central glass hand with a red, hammer-shaped tip. Faceted white gold dauphine hands and baton markers carry white luminescent coating.
The fully polished 40mm case has curved, two-tier fluted lugs. The hand-stitched blue-gray calfskin strap, embossed with a denim pattern and finished with white stitching, gives the watch its casual "Jeans" personality.
Movement: Calibre 240 HU C
The ultra-thin self-winding Calibre 240 HU C is 4.58mm thick and contains 306 parts, 70 of them in the date module alone. It uses a 22K gold off-centre mini-rotor, a Gyromax balance and a Spiromax balance spring in Silinvar, and carries the Patek Philippe Seal. A pusher at 10 o'clock moves the city and 24-hour disks together, making time zone changes quick when you travel.
